Discovery session

New to the internal communications profession? Come along to find out about the profession, chat with IC practitioners and ask questions. Guest speakers will drop in to share their insights and experiences.

Join a discovery session for an honest conversation about the internal comms profession. Each session provides you with the opportunity to find out more about:

  • The role and responsibilities of an internal comms junior professional
  • Internal comms channels and content methods
  • Useful resources and training
  • Continued professional development on a budget

Experience practitioners will be on hand, sharing their knowledge and learnings. You can also submit questions in advance or bring them along on the night. Discovery sessions will be held virtually until it’s safe for face to face meetings.

Welcome day

A few months into your first internal comms role? Join for an introduction to content planning, channel management & development and measurement. You’ll also come away with a CPD plan and advice on maintaining positive wellbeing.

The aim of the day is to not only provide you with a space to reflect but provide you with an introduction to:

  • Content planning
  • Channel management
  • Measurement tools and models
  • Wellbeing tips for communicators
  • Starting a CPD plan

The small group size means you’ll have the opportunity to work through any challenges in a safe space. You’ll leave with new knowledge, confidence and resources you can use straight away. You’ll also have full access to the Horizon Comms Guild group, a community for internal comms professionals.

CPD focus session

Wondering how to make a start on your continuing professional development? Each focus session gives you the time, space and resources to help plan your development path. Whether its upskilling or looking for a new opportunity, you’ll start to develop a CPD plan.

Using a step by step process we’ll work through:

  • Identifying the development areas you would like to focus on
  • Set yourself a 30, 60 and 90 plan to achieve your annual goals
  • Explore what support and resources you need to achieve your CPD plan

So you have the time to share through your thoughts, attendee numbers stay minimal.

Mentoring

I offer mentoring for those new to internal comms who are looking for friendly support and advice, whether it’s about professional development or a particular workplace challenge.

We’ll have an initial 30 minute chat to talk about what is troubling you and to see whether I can help. If not, we’ll find the right direction for the next step in your journey. Follow up sessions will be at your pace to help work through any challenges or development areas, exploring options available and what’s the next steps for you. Maybe we just need the one call to help get you feeling steady again or perhaps arrange a few more sessions so you feel steady and confident.
