Since the start of the year, I’ve been thinking about how to provide a bit of extra support for internal comms newbies to help in the difficult times.
I’m delighted to launch Lighthouse and Sundown, two support packages that offer a flexible and affordable mentoring solution. When I started out in my first role, it was a challenge to find the support and guidance I needed outside of work. I couldn’t afford at the time to join a membership body and living outside of London made it even more challenging to attend networking events. It took two years till I joined the CIPR and IOIC and I want to help those facing the same challenges.
Sundown provides a monthly, virtual group session giving you the opportunity to meet fellow internal comms practitioners and have a community you can ask for advice and support.
Designed to be a free, virtual group session that I hope you’ll find Sundown to be a safe space to drop in and catch up with other peers in the internal comms community. There is no set topic, just a place for you to come along and chat over challenges at work or look for ideas on that next campaign. Often the best form of learning is sharing best practices and tips based on firsthand experience.
Lighthouse is a one to one, tailored package designed to support your professional development or to help you with a specific, internal comms challenge.
Sometimes though, you might feel the need for support outside of work to help give you reassurance and guidance without the worry about how it might reflect to your work colleagues. Lighthouse offers you a flexible one to one mentoring package, helping to shine a light on your development at a pace that works for you.
Both packages will keep the focus on supporting internal comms newbies, using the experiences faced by others who have stood in your shoes and felt unsure where to go next.
