Podcasts haven’t quite taken off yet within internal communications as a channel and it’s something I’ve yet to explore, so it was an exciting opportunity to be invited by the lovely Debbie Aurelius to record an episode on the Be a Bigger Fish podcast.
What made this episode an extra delight was to record it alongside Shelby Loasby, who wrote the first guest blog ‘Chat, write, read, repeat’ when I first launched Horizon Comms. During the 50 minutes, me and Shelby share our advice, learnings and thoughts to help those new to internal comms. We cover everything from how we started out in the profession, undertaking training within a limit or non-existent budget, the benefits of communities and membership bodies and the use of podcasts both for professional development and as an internal comms channel.
So, rather than me writing out a summary, have a listen below and let me know your thoughts.
A massive thank you to Debbie, not only for the invitation but for making the entire process enjoyable and to Shelby, for helping Horizon Comms followers by sharing her advice. You can find out more from Debbie over on Peppermint Fish and Shelby on IC & Me, both of which feature on the useful links page.
